At an event I attended recently, the speaker asked us to write our own eulogy expressing how we wanted to be remembered. Here’s mine. What would yours say?
My Eulogy
Janice was a spirit in a body. She lived from a soul place and continued to grow and develop throughout her time on this earth. She went from being filled with fear to being filled with love and realizing her unlimited potential. She made her way away from people pleasing and needing other people’s approval, to finding her approval from above and from within. She searched unendingly for the perfect love that casts out all fear. And she found it. She didn’t realize it at the time, but it was in her all along. It was hidden until she had eyes to see and an awareness to know. She delighted in letting other people know about this special love she had found. She didn’t dare name it for that would make it human and she knew it was of spirit and of the divine, which holds no human words.
She walked through all of her fears and became the best and brightest version of herself, standing in her truth and her own authentic power. She transformed herself and was therefore able to guide and lead other people to their own transformations. She learned to love herself so much that she knew when she needed to set boundaries and say no and when she needed to push through her own self-imposed limitations. She was kind and loving but from a place of deep fullness, not from want or need or lack. She loved without expectation of anything in return. She didn’t need a condition. She loved fully and authentically and held nothing back.
She embraced all the seasons and the flow of life. She didn’t clasp or grasp, but held loosely, lightly, and lovingly to all that she encountered. She saw people and loved them without judgement or condemnation. Just pure and simple love. She created a life that she loved and she loved people openly and fully and that is what she most wanted to be remembered for.
